New Delhi, 30 July (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday targeted the Samajwadi Party (SP) over the alleged irregularities in donations collected for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, stating that politicising the issue was highly condemnable. The party said that the government was handling the matter with complete sensitivity and vigilance, and that all procedures were being carried out in accordance with the directions of the Supreme Court.
BJP national spokesperson and Rajya Sabha member Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi, while speaking to media persons at the Parliament complex on Thursday, said that those who once claimed that Ayodhya was not the birthplace of Lord Ram and questioned his existence were now pretending to express concern over the issue.
He alleged that these were the same people under whose rule the blood of kar sevaks had turned the Sarayu River red.
Trivedi said that those who had insulted Ayodhya, hurt its dignity, and caused violence in the past, if they were now expressing concern, it was not genuine concern but a reflection of their political motives.
Meanwhile, before the commencement of Thursday’s parliamentary proceedings, opposition MPs staged a protest. SP MPs also held a demonstration inside the Parliament premises, alleging irregularities in the donations collected for the Ram Temple.
