New Delhi, 30 July (H.S.): Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, and other leaders on Thursday extended their greetings to the people on the auspicious beginning of the holy Shravan month.

Birla wrote on X, “On the sacred beginning of the Shravan month, I bow to Lord Mahadev and extend my heartfelt wishes to all citizens. The month of Shravan is not only a period of devotion but also a sacred occasion for connecting with nature, spirituality and self-purification. It inspires us to embrace discipline, service, compassion, goodwill and a harmonious way of life with nature.”

He further said that Lord Shiva himself represents the forces of nature, and every form of the deity conveys the message of protecting water, forests, mountains, rivers and all forms of life. “During this holy month, along with prayers and worship, let us also take a pledge to plant trees, keep the environment clean and fulfil our responsibilities towards nature. This will be a true expression of devotion towards Lord Bholenath and our duty towards future generations,” Birla said.

Amit Shah said that this sacred month of faith, discipline and devotion would bring positive energy, spiritual growth and immense peace into everyone’s lives. He prayed to Lord Mahadev, the supreme deity, for the well-being and prosperity of all.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that he prayed for the holy month to bring happiness, peace, good health and prosperity to everyone’s lives, and wished that Lord Shiva’s blessings remain upon all. “Har Har Mahadev!” he added.

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said he prayed to Lord Mahadev to bless everyone with happiness, peace, prosperity, good health and spiritual strength, while also contributing to the welfare of the entire world.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the holy month dedicated to the worship of Lord Mahadev conveys the message of faith, service and self-reflection. He prayed to Lord Shiva to bless all devotees undertaking the Kanwar Yatra and the entire nation with happiness, prosperity, peace and good health, while promoting harmony, unity and collective welfare across the country and the world.
