New Delhi, 30 July (H.S.):

Opposition MPs staged a strong protest in the Parliament complex on Thursday during the Monsoon Session, raising several issues including the alleged police action against student protesters and the controversy over alleged irregularities in donations received by the Ram Temple.

Congress and other Opposition leaders demonstrated near the Makar Dwar of the Parliament House, protesting the alleged use of pellet guns by police during the student agitation held in Delhi on July 20. The Opposition demanded an apology from Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the incident and called for the withdrawal of all FIRs registered against the protesting students.

Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party MPs staged a separate protest in the Parliament complex, alleging irregularities in the donations collected for the Ram Temple. During the demonstration, the MPs raised slogans of Chadhava Chor, Gaddi Chhod and displayed banners to express their opposition.

Congress leaders alleged that the police action against the student protesters was against democratic rights. They demanded that the central government provide an explanation on the issue and sought a public apology from the Prime Minister and the Home Minister.
