Bhubaneswar, 30 July (H.S.): In view of an impending flood situation, the Khordha district administration has ordered the closure of all schools until July 31 and cancelled the leave of all government employees to ensure preparedness and effective response.

According to an official directive, all primary, upper primary, high schools and higher secondary institutions, including government, government-aided, OAVs and private schools in the district, will remain closed from 1 PM on July 30 until July 31. Authorities have instructed schools to serve the Mid-Day Meal early on July 30 so that students can be sent home by the stipulated time, while teachers and staff will continue to remain on duty.

The administration has directed that no casual leave will be granted for the next four days. School authorities have also been asked to keep infrastructure ready for any emergency use. Headmasters have been instructed to arrange roster duties to keep school premises open кругл the clock and extend full cooperation to the district administration whenever required. Officials have warned of strict action and zero tolerance for any negligence in carrying out these responsibilities.

In a broader administrative move, all district officials have been ordered to remain stationed at their respective headquarters and are prohibited from leaving without prior approval from competent authorities. Additionally, all previously sanctioned leaves have been cancelled with immediate effect, and employees currently on leave have been directed to report back to duty without delay.

These measures are part of the district administration’s efforts to strengthen preparedness and ensure swift action in case the flood situation escalates.
