
Imphal, 30 July (HS): Security forces and Manipur Police achieved major successes in separate anti-drug and anti-insurgency operations, arresting an Assam resident with over 1 kg of suspected heroin and apprehending two active cadres of the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP).
On Thursday, security forces intercepted a white Bolero (NL07CC-2510) at the T-Khullen Check Post under Senapati Police Station in Senapati district. The occupant, identified as 33-year-old Alal Uddin from Morigaon district of Assam, was arrested. Security personnel recovered 1.120 kg of suspected heroin along with ₹5,000 in cash from his possession.
In another operation on July 29, Manipur Police arrested an active cadre of KCP (MFL), identified as Maibam Rajkumar Singh alias Chinkang (28), a resident of Tentha Mathak Leikai. He was apprehended from the Khongjom area along National Highway-02 under Khongjom Police Station in Thoubal district.
In a separate crackdown on the same day, security forces arrested another active KCP cadre belonging to the Nongdrenkhomba faction. The arrested militant, Leishangthem Lamnganba Singh alias Nungsiba alias Naoba (23), a resident of Thangmeiband Polem Leikai, was apprehended from his residence under Imphal Police Station in Imphal West district.
Police said further investigation into all the cases is underway.-----------
