
Mumbai, 30 July (HS): Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis launched ‘Drug-free
Mumbai’ campaign in Worli Dome in Mumbai, on Thursday. He said the issue is not
restricted only to law and order enforcement machinery, but a social war for a
bright future of the society.
Fadnavis administered oath of Drugs-free society
to those present and said with the support of the people the mission is
launched ti proceed towards drugs-Free Maharashtra and Drugs-free India. When
India is progressing in the fields of Science, Technology, Artificial
Intelligence and Space, the youth are being pushed into drug addictions and
making the nation weak. This is powerful and dangerous weapon in the secret war
against our nation. All the sections of the society will have to fight together
against drugs, he added.
Fadnavis warned of stern action against those
selling drugs near schools and colleges. The heads of the educational
institutions have been appealed to make ‘Drugs-free campus’ ‘Drugs-free school’
to join the mission.
Those providing information about drug peddlers
will be reqrded and the informer’s name will be kept secret. Emphasis is being
laid on generating awareness among the youth, Fadnavis said.
