(HS): A history sheeter from Telangana, who stole ‘Shivai’ e-bust of MSRTC from

Nagpur was arrested in Amravati on Thursday. The accused has accepted that he

had stolen 21 buses from Telangana, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh and Nanded in

Maharashtra.

Vishnu Ganapati

Nilawar (22) a resident of Hayat Naka, District Rangareddi, Telangana stole

e-bus (MH-49 BZ 8252) from Nagpur’s Imambada Bust Depot. Around 14 MSRTC employees

were present when the bus was taken away by Vishnu. The bus proceeded towards

Amravati.

Security man

Surendra Mishra noticed that the bus did not return to the depot till 9 am, and

informed Deport Manager Imran Patel on phone. Patel in turn informed Divisional

officers Tanuja Ahirkar, Ranjana Ghodmare and Mahendrakumar Neware, who tracked

the location of the bus through electronic gadget and alerted Amravati police.

Amravati’s Rajapeth

Police found the bus staioned at Nanda Market. Vishnu, who was moving near

Gadre Square was arrested in suspicion by policemen on patrolling duty.

Vishu used to

sale used batteries, tyres and other parts of the stolen buses.

The Vehicle Tracking

System installed by MSRTC helped in detecting the crime and accused arrested

within hours.
