Australia continued to lead the Commonwealth Games 2026 medal standings after the conclusion of competitions on Friday, the second day of the Games, with a total of 12 medals.

Australia delivered an impressive performance on Friday, winning five gold, two silver and five bronze medals to maintain its position at the top of the medal table.

Nigeria is placed second with six medals, comprising three gold and three silver. The African nation dominated the para powerlifting events, securing both the gold and silver medals in two different categories.

Host nation Scotland occupies the third position with four medals, including two gold and two silver.

England, despite winning a total of seven medals, is placed fourth due to having fewer gold medals. England's tally includes one gold, three silver and three bronze medals.

India also opened its medal account on the second day of the Games. Para powerlifter Jhandu Kumar won the bronze medal in the men's heavyweight category, securing India's first medal at the Commonwealth Games 2026.

With this achievement, India is currently placed ninth in the overall medal standings.
