TEHRAN, July 24 (HS/RIA Novosti) - The United States attacked the headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) navy in Gilan Province in northern Iran early on Friday, Gilan security chief Ali Bagheri, said.
This morning, the IRGC Navy headquarters in Zibakenar was attacked by the US enemy, as a result of which part of the equipment located on the complex's premises was damaged, Mehr news agency quoted Bagheri as saying.
No casualties were immediately reported. Authorities launched an investigation into the attack, Bagheri added.
Overnight into June 18, Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum, providing for an end to the conflict that began on February 28. However, the US has carried out several series of strikes on Iran since July 8.
The US Central Command claimed the strikes were in response to Iranian actions against commercial vessels crossing the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian forces responded with strikes on US bases in the Middle East. US President Donald Trump said the ceasefire between the US and Iran was no longer valid.
