New Delhi, 23 July (H.S.): Several parts of western India are likely to witness intense rainfall activity over the next six days, while light rain is expected in Delhi-NCR on Friday, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

According to the IMD forecast, Delhi-NCR is likely to experience light rainfall at several places from morning till afternoon on Friday, accompanied by gusty winds moving at a speed of 20-30 km per hour. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to remain between 32-34 degrees Celsius and 24-26 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Similar weather conditions are likely to continue on Saturday, while generally cloudy skies are expected on Sunday. The maximum and minimum temperatures on Saturday are likely to remain between 32-34 degrees Celsius and 25-27 degrees Celsius.

The IMD said that the monsoon is expected to remain active over northwest India, central India and adjoining northern peninsular regions, as well as eastern and northeastern India during the next three to four days.

On Friday, heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over the Gujarat region, southeast Rajasthan and Madhya Maharashtra.

According to the weather department, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places across several regions during the next six days. These include western Rajasthan, eastern Rajasthan, eastern and western Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Haryana and Chandigarh in northwest India.

In central India, parts of western Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and eastern Madhya Pradesh are likely to receive heavy rainfall. In western India, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Saurashtra and Kutch are also expected to witness intense rain activity.

All northeastern states, along with parts of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, West Bengal, Jharkhand, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim in eastern India, are also likely to receive heavy to extremely heavy rainfall at isolated locations.

The IMD further warned that strong winds may occur in isolated areas of these regions during the period, which could impact normal life and local activities.
