New Delhi, 23 July (H.S.): Global markets are showing mixed signals on Thursday. US markets closed lower in the previous trading session, while Dow Jones futures are currently trading with a decline. European markets witnessed a positive trend during the previous session, whereas Asian markets are witnessing mixed trading today.

In the US market, continuous pressure remained during the previous session, leading major Wall Street indices to close in the red. The S&P 500 index ended 0.14 per cent lower at 7,498.96 points. Similarly, the Nasdaq closed the session at 25,690.90 points after declining by 146.30 points, or 0.57 per cent. Dow Jones futures are currently trading 0.08 per cent lower at 52,175.30 points.

Contrary to the US market, European markets witnessed a positive momentum during the previous session. The FTSE index closed at 10,716.97 points, gaining 131.06 points, or 1.22 per cent. The CAC index also ended the session 0.89 per cent higher at 8,437.89 points. Meanwhile, Germany’s DAX index climbed 144.06 points, or 0.57 per cent, to close at 25,155.41 points.

Asian markets are witnessing mixed trading trends today. Out of nine major Asian markets, five indices are trading in positive territory, while four are trading in the red.

Gift Nifty is currently trading 0.31 per cent lower at 23,887.50 points. Singapore’s Straits Times Index has declined 0.58 per cent to 5,562.72 points. Taiwan’s Weighted Index is trading lower by 312.31 points, or 0.70 per cent, at 44,513.47 points, while the Shanghai Composite Index has slipped 0.19 per cent to 3,859.69 points.

On the other hand, Japan’s Nikkei index has gained 194.40 points, or 0.29 per cent, to reach 66,310 points. Thailand’s SET Composite Index is also trading 0.16 per cent higher at 1,642.02 points.

South Korea’s KOSPI index has witnessed a strong rally, rising 199.92 points, or 2.94 per cent, to 6,997.62 points. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index has advanced 353.34 points, or 1.40 per cent, to 23,246 points, while Indonesia’s Jakarta Composite Index is trading 1.28 per cent higher at 6,415.79 points.
