New Delhi, 23 July (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday spoke with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel over the telephone to take stock of the situation arising due to heavy rainfall in the state. The Prime Minister assured all possible assistance from the Central government for relief and rescue operations and the safety of citizens.

According to the Gujarat government’s Information Department, Prime Minister Modi reviewed the progress of relief and rescue efforts amid continuous heavy rains in the state. He assured that the Centre would provide every possible support to assist affected people and ensure their safety.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel also held a conversation with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and briefed him about the ongoing relief and rescue operations in the state. Shah assured Gujarat of all necessary assistance from the Centre in dealing with the situation.
