Jammu, 22 July (H.S.): The Indian Army conducted an extensive search and rescue operation in the flood-affected area of Plangarh, District Rajouri, following reports of civilians missing in the aftermath of heavy rainfall and severe flooding.

Responding promptly to the emergency, specialised Army rescue teams were deployed to the affected area with advanced search, rescue and safety equipment. Despite adverse weather conditions, difficult terrain and strong water currents, the troops carried out a systematic search of the flooded locations to trace the missing persons and extend immediate assistance to affected residents.

The operation was undertaken in close coordination with the civil administration, Jammu and Kashmir Police and other disaster-response agencies. Joint teams assessed vulnerable areas, assisted local residents and ensured the timely mobilisation of available resources.

The Indian Army remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding lives and providing humanitarian assistance during natural disasters. Through professionalism, courage, seamless coordination and timely intervention, the rescue teams once again reaffirmed the Army’s role as a dependable first responder during emergencies, while further strengthening its enduring bond with the local Awam.
