Kamrup (Assam), 22 July (HS): The Kamrup District Administration on Wednesday held an emergency flood preparedness meeting at the District Commissioner's Office, Amingaon, to review the district's readiness amid the worsening flood situation across Assam.

The administration informed that relief has already been distributed in Palashbari and North Guwahati, while relief camps have been opened at Bengali LP School and Amingaon Higher Secondary School to shelter affected families.

The District Commissioner directed all flood response departments to remain on high alert, cancelled leave for officials engaged in relief operations and instructed teams to ensure swift assistance in vulnerable areas. The meeting also reviewed inter-departmental coordination and announced that the new District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) building will operate round the clock during the flood emergency.----------
