Nagpur, 22 July

(HS): All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Nagpur has started first

of its kind telephonic consultation centre for snake bite, scorpion bite of

inspect bite and other bites causing poisonous or toxic effect on consumption

of higher dose of medicines of chemicals of domestic use.

Snake bites and

scorpion bites are common during monsoon season in the Vidarbha region. Where

immediate medical help is not available or needed, the centre can guide the

affected people until medical help is available.

The centre has

been opened in order to save lives of people affected, particularly during the

monsoon season.
