London, 02 July (H.S.): Seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic continued his impressive campaign at Wimbledon 2026, defeating Greece's Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 in straight sets on Wednesday to book his place in the third round.

Playing on Centre Court, the 39-year-old Serbian dominated the contest from start to finish, producing another clinical display of precision and experience. The match lasted just under two hours, with Djokovic controlling the tempo throughout.

The decisive moment came in the eighth game of the second set when Tsitsipas squandered an excellent opportunity to save a break point by sending two routine smashes wide. Djokovic capitalised immediately, broke serve, and effectively ended any hopes of a comeback from the Greek.

The victory marked Djokovic's 12th consecutive win over Tsitsipas.

Djokovic will next face 25th seed Arthur Rinderknech of France in the third round as he continues his pursuit of a record-equalling eighth Wimbledon title and a record-extending 25th Grand Slam singles crown.

Speaking after the match, Djokovic said, When you play tennis like this, you feel immense joy and satisfaction on the court. Competing on Centre Court at Wimbledon is always a privilege for me. I never take these moments for granted.

He added, Age is just a number. Even after turning 30, it is a blessing to still be competing on this court.

For Tsitsipas, the defeat represented another setback in a difficult period. The Greek, who has slipped to World No. 87, recently parted ways with his coach and father, Apostolos Tsitsipas, and continues to struggle for consistency.

With the win, Djokovic recorded his 104th career Wimbledon victory and is now just one win away from equalling Roger Federer's men's record of 105 match wins at the All England Club.
