
Bhubaneswar, 02 July (H.S.) : The results of the Common Post Graduate Entrance Test (CPET-2026) have been officially declared, the Higher Education Department informed on Thursday. Candidates who appeared for the examination can now check their results through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal.
The CPET is conducted for admission into postgraduate courses for the academic session 2026–27 across various universities and higher education institutions in Odisha.
According to official data, a total of 58,613 candidates had applied for the entrance examination, out of which 53,901 candidates appeared for the test. The examination was conducted for admission into 50 postgraduate disciplines.
The Higher Education Department also informed that for the academic year 2026–27, a total of 32,309 postgraduate seats are available across 132 higher education institutions under its jurisdiction. Admissions to these seats will be conducted strictly on the basis of CPET-2026 merit.
The department stated that the detailed admission schedule will be published shortly on the SAMS portal. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official website for updates regarding counselling and admission procedures.
The CPET system continues to serve as the centralised mechanism for postgraduate admissions in the state, ensuring a transparent and merit-based selection process.
