ISTANBUL, July 18 (HS/RIA Novosti) - A key oil site in Kuwait was damaged in repeated Iranian attacks on Saturday morning, the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation said in a statement.

Several people were injured and hospitalized, while the site sustained significant material damage.

Earlier in the day, the Kuwaiti army's general staff said air defense forces were repelling a combined attack involving missiles and drones.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that Iranian forces had struck a fuel terminal in the Kuwaiti port of Al Ahmadi that supplies the US fleet.

Since July 8, US forces have carried out several series of strikes on Iran. The US Central Command claimed the strikes were in response to Iranian actions against commercial vessels crossing the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian forces responded with strikes on US bases in several Middle Eastern countries. On July 9, US President Donald Trump said that the ceasefire with Iran was no longer in effect.
