New Delhi, 18 July (H.S.): The Central government has invited entries from citizens across the country to design the official mascot for the Department of Posts (India Post). A mascot design competition has been launched on the Innovate India MyGov platform with the objective of creating a brand ambassador that effectively represents India Post’s trusted services, public outreach, and digital transformation.
According to the Ministry of Communications, the competition will be held from July 15 to August 15, 2026. The contest is open to all Indian citizens. Participants are required to submit an original mascot design, a suitable name for the mascot, and a brief concept note through the Innovate India MyGov portal.
The ministry has announced cash prizes for the top three mascot designs. The first prize winner will receive Rs 75,000, the second prize Rs 50,000, and the third prize Rs 25,000. Separate prizes have also been announced for the three best mascot names, with awards of Rs 25,000, Rs 15,000, and Rs 10,000 for first, second, and third place, respectively. All winners will also receive certificates.
The Ministry clarified that the awards for mascot design and mascot naming will be presented under separate categories.
The winning mascot selected through the competition will become the official brand ambassador of India Post. It will be featured in the department’s promotional campaigns, postage stamps, public awareness initiatives, exhibitions, social media campaigns, and other official communication platforms.
The Department of Posts has encouraged students, designers, artists, and professionals from the creative community to participate enthusiastically in the competition. The department said the initiative not only offers an opportunity to shape India Post’s new visual identity but also provides a national platform for creative talent to showcase their skills and gain wider recognition.
