Udalguri (Assam), 17 July (HS): In a tragic incident, two siblings drowned in a pond at Garuajhar in Assam's Udalguri district. The police informed on Friday that the children had reportedly gone to bathe in a pond located near their home when the incident occurred.

The deceased have been identified as nine-year-old Chidul Ali and eight-year-old Ikramul Hussain, both residents of Garuajhar. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the locality. Police have initiated the necessary legal formalities.----------
