Imphal, 17 July (HS): Security forces arrested two militant cadres in separate operations over the last 24 hours across Manipur while police also recovered a stolen two-wheeler in Kakching district.

On July 16, security forces apprehended a cadre of the Manipur Peoples Defence Force (MPDF), identified as Khundrakpam Boynao Meitei (25), from the Ningthoukhong Loktak Project area in Bishnupur district. A .32 pistol with a magazine loaded with five live rounds and ₹1 lakh in cash were seized from his possession.

In another operation on the same day, security forces arrested an active cadre of the KCP (PWG), Tourangbam David Singh alias Sanamba (24), from his residence at Wangjing Bazar Lamding Laishram Leikai in Thoubal district.

Earlier, Manipur Police recovered a Honda Dio scooter from the Sora Awang Leikai area under Kakching Police Station. The vehicle had been reported stolen earlier from Andro Parking in Imphal East district.

Police said further investigation into all the cases is underway.-----------
