Kokrajhar (Assam), 17 July (HS): Four alleged contract killers were arrested with a firearm and live ammunition during a police operation at Ballamguri in Assam's Gossaigaon.

Acting on specific inputs, Gossaigaon Police conducted a late-night raid and apprehended the four accused. Police said the suspects had allegedly entered Assam from Uttar Pradesh with the intention of carrying out a targeted criminal act.

During the operation, police seized a country-made pistol along with live ammunition from their possession.

The arrested accused have been identified as Dharambir Gautam, Vikas Chaudhary, Suraj Gautam and Nizamis Ali, all residents of Basti district in Uttar Pradesh. Further investigation is underway to ascertain their motive and possible links to criminal networks.---------
