MOSCOW, July 15 (HS/RIA Novosti) - The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between India and the United Kingdom entered into force on Wednesday, Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal said.

Under the dynamic leadership of Hon'ble PM [Prime Minister Narendra Modi], the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) and the Agreement on Social Security, have come into force, delivering zero-duty market access for nearly 99% of India's exports, covering almost 100% of trade value, the minister said in X.

The free trade agreement with the UK opens unprecedented opportunities for India’s textile, leather and jewelry industries, as well as for engineering, chemical and food sectors and for agricultural exports, he added.

The agreements also create new opportunities for cooperation in IT, financial, educational and business services, while enhancing the mobility of Indian professionals, Goyal said.
