
Guwahati, 14 July (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday paid heartfelt tributes to eminent Assamese litterateur Nabakanta Barua on his death anniversary, remembering his immense contribution to Assamese language, literature and culture.
In a social media post, the Chief Minister said his introduction to Barua's works began with children's literature during his childhood and gradually grew into a deep literary admiration. He described the celebrated writer's creations—from children's literature and poetry to novels and songs—as invaluable treasures that have enriched Assamese literature and cultural heritage.
Dr. Sarma said Barua's timeless literary works and songs have inspired generations with thought, emotion and creativity, adding that his contribution to Assamese language and literature will continue to shine forever. He also offered his respectful homage to the legendary writer on his death anniversary.---------
