
New Delhi, 13 July (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated the five-member Indian team for winning gold medals at the 56th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) 2026 held in Bucaramanga, Colombia, describing the achievement as a reflection of the immense potential of India's youth and their passion for science and research.
In a message posted on social media platform X, the Prime Minister extended his congratulations to Kanishk Jain, Riddhesh Anant Bendale, Rishit Garg, Shreshta Suraiya, and Swarit Joshi for their outstanding accomplishment. He said their remarkable success was a matter of great pride for the entire nation.
PM Modi stated that the achievement once again demonstrated that Indian students were establishing a strong global presence in the fields of science and research through their talent and dedication. He expressed confidence that the success of these young achievers would inspire more students across the country to pursue excellence in science, innovation, and scientific research.
The Prime Minister also noted that Indian students have consistently delivered exceptional performances at successive editions of the International Physics Olympiad over the past decade.
