Guwahati, 13 July (HS): Assam Cabinet Minister and local MLA Atul Bora on Monday alleged that a section of people was deliberately attempting to mislead the government over the proposed five-star Hyatt hotel in Kaziranga and the construction of the Tea Tribe Cultural Kala Kshetra.

Speaking to reporters after the arrest of Pranab Doley, Bora said the proposed Tea Tribe Cultural Kala Kshetra at Ingle Pathar has received widespread support from the tea community. He alleged that certain vested interests were conspiring to create unnecessary controversy to put the government in a difficult position. Minister was talking to media persons on Monday while come to participate in Assam Legislative Assembly session.

The minister said 22 families residing in the project area have been offered compensation of ₹5 lakh each. He added that each family has already received the first installment of ₹3 lakh as part of the compensation package.

Bora maintained that the government is committed to carrying out the projects while safeguarding the interests of the affected families.-----------
