Guwahati, 13 July (HS): AIUDF MLA Badruddin Ajmal on Monday alleged that the 18 minority MLAs of the Congress, despite being elected largely with the support of Muslim voters, have failed to raise issues concerning the Muslim community in the Assam Legislative Assembly.

Ajmal claimed while talking to the media persons outside the house on Monday that the Congress legislators do not oppose matters such as eviction drives or other issues affecting the minority community. He asserted that only he and fellow AIUDF MLA Mazibur Rahman have consistently spoken in the Assembly on behalf of the state's minority population.

The AIUDF leader made the remarks while criticizing the role of Congress legislators in representing the concerns of Assam's minority community.-----------
