Guwahati, 13 July (HS): BJP Assam Pradesh spokesperson Ranjib Kumar Sarmah alleged that the Congress, other opposition parties and a section of self-styled intellectuals are deliberately trying to create an atmosphere of unrest to obstruct Assam's development. He claimed that misinformation and propaganda are being used to spread confusion and destabilise society.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters in Guwahati, Sarma said the people of Assam have already rejected such politics in previous Assembly elections. He further asserted that Assam's society has never supported, and will never support, violent ideologies associated with figures like Lenin, Stalin, Mao Zedong and Che Guevara, adding that the state's cultural ethos is rooted in the teachings of Srimanta Sankardeva, which promote peace, compassion and coexistence.------------
