
Hooghly, 13 July (H.S.) : An administrative coordination meeting was held at Arambagh Police Station on Monday to ensure the peaceful and orderly conduct of the upcoming Rath Yatra festival.
The meeting was attended by Arambagh Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sandeep Nandy, Officer-in-Charge Sumit Talukdar, and representatives of various Rath Yatra committees from the police station's jurisdiction.
Discussions focused on law and order, traffic management, public safety and other administrative measures for the festival. The administration categorically announced that the use of DJ sound systems during Rath Yatra has been strictly prohibited. Officials warned that legal action would be taken against anyone found violating the directive by playing loud DJ music.
Addressing the meeting, SDPO Sandeep Nandy urged all Rath Yatra committee members to adhere to the administration's guidelines and cooperate in ensuring that the festival is conducted peacefully, safely and in an organised manner.
Representatives of the Rath Yatra committees assured the administration that they would comply with the directives. Officials also said adequate police deployment and necessary security arrangements would be made across Arambagh town and adjoining areas during the festival.
