Global markets are sending positive signals on Friday, with U.S. equities ending the previous session on a strong note. However, Dow Jones Futures were trading slightly lower in early trade. European markets delivered mixed performances in the previous session, while Asian markets were broadly trading higher.
The U.S. markets witnessed a strong rally in the previous session, driven primarily by gains in chip stocks. The Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 0.27 percent to close at 52,487.41. The S&P 500 Index climbed 0.81 percent to settle at 7,543.64, while the Nasdaq surged 336.24 points, or 1.30 percent, to end the session at 26,206.89. Meanwhile, Dow Jones Futures were trading 0.09 percent lower at 52,440.92 during early trading on Friday.
European markets ended the previous session with mixed results after late-session selling erased part of the day's gains. The FTSE Index declined 0.16 percent to close at 10,472.45. In contrast, the CAC Index gained 0.89 percent to settle at 8,326.62, while the DAX Index jumped 220.82 points, or 0.88 percent, to finish at 25,118.27.
Asian markets witnessed broad-based buying during Friday's trading session. Out of the nine major Asian markets, eight indices were trading in positive territory, while the Taiwan Weighted Index remained unchanged due to a market holiday.
Gift Nifty was trading 206.50 points, or 0.86 percent, higher at 24,201. The Shanghai Composite Index also gained 0.76 percent to trade at 4,067.07.
South Korea's Kospi Index emerged as one of the strongest performers in the region, surging 385.97 points, or 5.29 percent, to 7,677.88. Japan's Nikkei Index also posted robust gains, rising 1,266.15 points, or 1.87 percent, to trade at 69,010.
Elsewhere in Asia, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index was up 434.82 points, or 1.81 percent, at 24,465. Thailand's SET Composite Index gained 0.46 percent to 1,615.71, Singapore's Straits Times Index advanced 0.41 percent to 5,456.02, and Indonesia's Jakarta Composite Index rose 0.31 percent to trade at 5,930.50.
