Adityanath often pays homage and tribute to Param Vir Chakra recipient Shaheed
Veer Abdul Hamid on his birth anniversary (01 July) and Martyrdom Day,
commemorating his supreme sacrifice. During the 1965 Indo-Pak war, Abdul Hamid,
a resident of Ghazipur (Uttar Pradesh), displayed unparalleled bravery in
destroying Pakistani tanks in the Khemkaran sector. For this indomitable
courage, he was posthumously awarded the country's highest gallantry award, the
Param Vir Chakra. The Chief Minister of UP often remembers him by visiting his
native village Dhamupur and the Martyr's Memorial.
“On the birth anniversary of the immortal warrior, Veer
Abdul Hamid, decorated with the 'Param Vir Chakra', who exemplified indomitable
courage and unparalleled valor, and made the supreme sacrifice for the defense
of the motherland, humble tribute. Your dedication and sacrifice for the nation
will continue to inspire all to remain steadfast on the path of duty for ages
to come,” he mentioned in X post.
