
Lucknow, 01 July (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are honoring the Digital India
initiative's 11th anniversary. The initiative, which was launched on July 1, 2015,
is being recognized for radically altering government, promoting UPI
transactions, and empowering individuals through platforms such as DigiLocker. PM
Modi emphasized that over a billion people have embraced technology, making the
Digital India initiative the foundation of a developed and self-sufficient
country. CM Yogi complimented the Modi administration's technology and
governance initiatives for making dramatic improvements to rural connectivity
and grassroots welfare delivery. The 11-year anniversary witnessed
unprecedented digital integration, with over 850 crore digital documents issued
via platforms such as DigiLocker and over 24,000 crore UPI transactions
conducted in the most recent fiscal year.
UP CM remarked in a post on X, “Heartfelt congratulations to
the fellow citizens of the country on the glorious completion of 11 years of
the visionary initiative 'Digital India', which, under the illustrious
leadership of the esteemed Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, infuses
convenience, speed, and new opportunities into the lives of crores of people. Over
the past 11 years, through Digital India, the governance system has become more
transparent, accountable, and people-oriented. Under this campaign, online
services such as digital payments, DBT, UPI, and DigiLocker have made citizens'
lives simpler, safer, and more convenient. Heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister
ji for this creative initiative, which, by providing a strong foundation to the
mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas', is
playing an important role in building a 'Viksit Bharat'.”
