Guwahati, 01 July (HS): Two Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA) in Guwahati before they could board a Mumbai-bound flight, officials said on Tuesday night.

The accused, identified as Rana Molla and Mafuza Aktar Lima, both residents of Bangladesh, were intercepted at the airport's newly operational Terminal 2 while preparing to board an Akasa Air flight to Mumbai. They reportedly came under suspicion during routine security screening.

During a detailed verification, CISF personnel allegedly recovered forged Indian Aadhaar cards and several other suspicious documents from their possession. Following preliminary questioning, both were handed over to Azara Police for further investigation and legal action.

Officials suspect the case may be linked to a larger network involved in providing fake Indian identity documents to foreign nationals for travel within the country. Investigators are probing how the forged documents were obtained and whether others are connected to the racket.

The latest arrest comes days after another Bangladeshi national was detained by CISF personnel at the Guwahati airport, prompting security agencies to closely examine a possible pattern of such attempts.------------
