Nagaon (Assam), 01 July (HS): One person was killed and another seriously injured in a head-on collision between a scooter and a motorcycle at Purnigodam in Assam's Nagaon district late Tuesday night.

According to police, the accident occurred at Kengapatti under the Purnigodam area. The scooter rider, identified as Rishikesh Saikia, killed on the spot following the collision, while Bikash Mudoi sustained serious injuries.

The injured youth was rushed to Nagaon Medical College and Hospital for advanced treatment. Both the deceased and the injured are residents of Kadhali village in the Purnigodam area of Nagaon district.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. The body of the deceased has been sent to the hospital for post-mortem examination.---------
