
New Delhi, 01 July (H.S.): Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu reviewed the ceremonial parade held on the occasion of Delhi Police Commissionerate Day at the New Police Lines Ground in Kingsway Camp on Wednesday.
He appealed to the police force to reaffirm its commitment to the core principles of humane, honest and technology-driven policing.
In a post on social media platform X, the Lieutenant Governor said that the unwavering commitment, discipline and professionalism of the Delhi Police continue to serve as the cornerstone of a safe, secure and citizen-centric national capital. He added that the force's service and dedication are invaluable as everyone works together towards the vision of a safer Delhi.
Congratulating the Police Commissioner and all senior police officers on the occasion, the Lieutenant Governor said several police personnel were honoured with gallantry awards. He described the Delhi Police as one of India's most important institutions and said it would play a vital role in fulfilling the Prime Minister's vision. He also stressed that the police force must remain citizen-centric and continue to play a crucial role wherever public safety and people's trust are required.
The Lieutenant Governor said the Delhi Police bears the enormous responsibility of maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety under difficult and constantly evolving circumstances. As policing challenges continue to change, he said, there is a constant need to adopt new methods, adapt to emerging situations and pursue continuous improvement.
