New Delhi, 01 July (H.S.): India's Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections registered strong growth in June, with gross GST revenue rising 13.9 per cent year-on-year to nearly Rs 1.95 lakh crore. In the previous month of May, GST collections had increased 3.2 per cent to more than Rs 1.94 lakh crore.

According to data released by the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) on Wednesday, gross GST collections for June stood at Rs 1,94,812 crore, compared with Rs 1,71,105 crore in the corresponding month last year, reflecting an annual growth of 13.9 per cent.

The data showed that gross GST revenue from domestic transactions increased 6.5 per cent to nearly Rs 1.35 lakh crore, while revenue from imports surged 34.6 per cent to Rs 60,038 crore.

Total GST refunds during June also recorded a sharp rise of 29.1 per cent to Rs 32,436 crore.

During the current financial year 2026-27, GST collections have grown 8.4 per cent. Between April and June 2026, total GST revenue stood at Rs 6,31,699 crore, compared with Rs 5,82,542 crore collected during the same period of the previous financial year.

According to the official data, after adjusting for refunds, net GST revenue collection for June increased 11.2 per cent year-on-year to more than Rs 1.62 lakh crore.

India also marked nine years of the Goods and Services Tax regime on July 1. The nationwide GST system came into effect on July 1, 2017.
