
Guwahati, 01 July (HS): Police seized fake Indian currency with a face value of approximately ₹13 lakh during an operation in the Panjabari area of Guwahati and arrested three alleged counterfeit currency traffickers.
The accused had reportedly arrived from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh to circulate the fake notes in the city. During the operation, police also seized a vehicle bearing a Uttar Pradesh registration number that was allegedly used by the accused.
An investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the counterfeit currency and identify others involved in the racket, police said.------------
