
Guwahati, 01 July (HS): Assam Police have seized a huge consignment of narcotics worth nearly ₹13 crore and arrested six persons in coordinated operations carried out by the Sribhumi and Cachar district police.
Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, in a social media post on Wednesday, said that while drug traffickers claimed, This is business, Assam Police's response was, Not in Assam.
According to the Chief Minister, the police recovered 49,800 Yaba tablets and 535 grams of heroin during the operations. The seized narcotics are estimated to be worth nearly ₹13 crore in the illegal market.
Reiterating the state's firm stand against drug trafficking, Dr. Sarma urged people to choose legitimate government schemes for livelihood instead of engaging in the illegal drug trade, reaffirming the government's commitment to the campaign against narcotics under the slogan, Assam Against Drugs.----------
