Lucknow, 08 June (HS): Uttar Pradesh Finance and
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna, carrying forward his weekly
resolution, used an e-rickshaw to commute to and from his office in the Vidhan
Sabha on Monday. He said that in the current international situation and the
ongoing instability in the Gulf countries, the need for energy conservation and
saving petroleum fuels has become more important than ever.
Khanna called on citizens to reduce fuel consumption,
promote environmental protection, and adopt alternative and cleaner modes of
transportation. He stated that energy conservation is not just the government's
responsibility, but also a national obligation of every citizen. Appealing to
the state's citizens, Khanna said that given the current global situation, all
citizens should use fuel-efficient modes of transport as much as possible.
Prioritizing bicycles, e-rickshaws, public transport, or other alternative
modes for short-distance trips can not only save petroleum fuels but also
significantly contribute to environmental protection and the national interest.
Suresh Khanna stated that if every citizen strives to reduce fuel consumption
even for one day a week, it will prove to be a major contribution to the
national interest.
