Bajali (Assam), 08 June (HS): Bajali Police conducted a raid in the Purbahati area of Bhawanipur and recovered 4 kilograms of ganja from a residence, police informed on Monday.

The accused, identified as Babul Sonari, was arrested during the operation. According to police sources, Sonari had allegedly been engaged in the illegal trade of ganja from his home for a long period.

Police stated that the accused had earlier been arrested on similar charges. Acting on specific inputs, officers carried out the raid and once again recovered a substantial quantity of ganja from his house.

Further investigation into the case is underway and police are examining possible links to a wider narcotics network.---------
