In a significant administrative reshuffle across the West Bengal Police, the state government on Monday issued an official notification transferring Birbhum Superintendent of Police Surya Pratap Yadav.
As per the order, Vidit Raj Bhundesh, who was earlier serving as DC (DD, Special) in Kolkata, has been appointed as the new Superintendent of Police of Birbhum.
Surya Pratap Yadav has been posted as Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Kolkata.
The reshuffle comes ahead of key political developments in the state, with Yadav having taken charge as Birbhum SP prior to the Assembly elections.
In another key change, Rahul Mishra has been replaced as Additional Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), Birbhum, by IPS officer Nilesh Srikant Gaikwad.
In Bolpur subdivision, SDPO Ricky Agarwal has been replaced by Arpit R Parakh, while in Rampurhat, SDPO Govind Shikdar has been replaced by IPS officer Mukuri Prince Kamal Teja.
