Neq Delhi, 08 June (H.S.):
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Monday praised the policies of the Narendra Modi-led government, stating that welfare initiatives for the poor have consistently remained at the top of the government's agenda.
In a post on social media platform X, Shah said that over the past 12 years, the government has connected millions of citizens to banking services, financial security and self-employment opportunities through a range of welfare schemes, including the Food Security Programme, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Jan Dhan Yojana, Mudra loans and the Pradhan Mantri SVANidhi scheme.
He said these initiatives have played a crucial role in empowering economically weaker sections by expanding access to formal financial services and supporting entrepreneurship and livelihood opportunities.
Shah further stated that the government is laying a strong foundation for a “Developed India” by integrating the poor into the economic mainstream through improved basic amenities, enhanced social security measures and a better standard of living.
According to the minister, the government's welfare-focused approach has sought to ensure that the benefits of development reach every section of society, particularly those who were previously excluded from economic growth and financial inclusion.
He emphasized that strengthening social welfare and economic empowerment remains central to the government's vision for inclusive development and long-term national progress.
