
VICTORIA (Seychelles)/New Delhi,29 June (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday offered prayers at the Arulmigu Navasakthi Vinayagar Temple in Victoria, one of the most prominent Hindu temples in Seychelles, during his official visit to the island nation.
Following the visit, the Prime Minister shared a message on social media, saying he prayed for the well-being of people across the world and sought the blessings of Bhagwan Shri Ganesh for wisdom, strength, and prosperity.
Prayed at the Arulmigu Navasakthi Vinayagar Temple in Victoria, the prominent Hindu temple of Seychelles. May Bhagwan Shri Ganesh bless everyone with wisdom, strength and prosperity,PM Modi said.
The Prime Minister also praised the Seychelles Hindu Kovil Sangam for its efforts in constructing and maintaining the temple and for promoting Indian culture and spiritual traditions in the country.
I would like to appreciate the Seychelles Hindu Kovil Sangam for their efforts towards the building of the Arulmigu Navasakthi Vinayagar Temple and for popularising different aspects of Indian culture and spirituality in Seychelles, he added.
The Arulmigu Navasakthi Vinayagar Temple, located in the capital city of Victoria, serves as an important religious and cultural centre for the Hindu community in Seychelles. Dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the temple is known for its distinctive South Indian architectural style and plays a significant role in celebrating major Hindu festivals and preserving Indian traditions in the island nation.
PM Modi's visit to the temple formed part of his official engagements in Seychelles and highlighted the longstanding cultural and people-to-people ties between India and the Indian Ocean nation. India and Seychelles share close historical relations, supported by a vibrant Indian diaspora that has contributed significantly to the country's social, economic and cultural development.
