Warangal, June 29 (HS): BJP National President Nitin Nabin on Monday urged party workers to intensify grassroots outreach and organisational strengthening, expressing confidence that the BJP would form a double-engine government in Telangana in 2028.
Addressing the Booth Pramukh Sammelan in Warangal on the second day of his three-day visit to Telangana, Nabin said the BJP's relationship with Telangana had been built through years of struggle and the trust reposed by the people of the state.
Recalling the party's early electoral journey in Telangana, he said the people of the state elected the BJP's first Member of Parliament from the region in 1984, for which the party would always remain grateful.
Nabin said the BJP had supported the formation of Telangana without considering political gains or losses. He recalled that former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj had strongly raised the demand for Telangana in Parliament, saying the party's only concern was the aspirations of the people.
He alleged that the vision behind the formation of Telangana had been lost and said the BJP was committed to reviving that dream through a government rooted in nationalism, Indian culture and development.
Calling upon booth-level workers to expand the party's reach, Nabin urged them to connect with every household, enrol every eligible voter in the electoral rolls and create awareness about the welfare schemes of the Narendra Modi government.
He said the BJP was a party that attained power through public service and viewed political power as a means to serve society. He described BJP workers as dedicated full-time public servants working round the clock for the people.
Criticising the Congress government in Telangana, Nabin alleged that it had failed to fulfil its election promises, including providing two lakh jobs. He also accused the government of neglecting public welfare and claimed that the aspirations of Telangana's people had been overshadowed by dynastic politics.
Targeting the Congress, he said the party had failed to accord former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao the respect he deserved, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi honoured him with the Bharat Ratna.
Nabin said the BJP believed in nationalism rather than dynastic politics and rejected appeasement politics in favour of the principles of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.
Addressing youth, farmers and women, he said the Narendra Modi government was committed to their welfare and development. He expressed confidence that the BJP would stand with the people of Telangana and fulfil their aspirations by forming a double-engine government in the state.
Highlighting the Centre's achievements over the past 12 years, Nabin said India had strengthened its internal security and adopted a firm approach against terrorism through measures such as surgical strikes, air strikes and Operation Sindoor. He also said the government had taken decisive steps to tackle Left Wing Extremism.
Calling upon BJP workers in Warangal to work towards building a Viksit Warangal, Nabin said it was the dedication and commitment of party workers that had made the BJP the world's largest political party.
