Guwahati, 28 June (HS): Acting on specific intelligence, a team from Jalukbari Police Station under the West Guwahati Police District (WGPD) busted an inter-state gang of alleged dacoits from Hotel Avisarika in the Adabari area of Guwahati.

Police said the gang was allegedly involved in targeting and robbing passengers travelling on trains. During the operation, six accused were arrested and taken into custody.

The arrested persons have been identified as Sonu (Rohtak), Krishna Rana (Bhiwani), Kuldeep (Rohtak), Praveen Kumar (Bhiwani), Satyawan (Bhiwani) and Sanjay Kumar (Hisar), all from Haryana.

Police have launched a detailed investigation to ascertain the gang's involvement in other similar crimes and to trace possible links with criminal networks operating across states.------------
