Baksa (Assam), 28 June (HS): A five-year-old boy was allegedly killed by his mother in a shocking incident reported from Jopadang Diringapur area of Assam's Baksa district, police said on Sunday.

According to the police, the accused, identified as Neusi Boro, allegedly attacked her five-year-old son, Ranbir Singh Boro, with a sharp weapon, resulting in his death on the spot.

After receiving information about the incident, a police team rushed to the scene, recovered the child's body and sent it to the hospital for post-mortem examination.

The accused mother has been arrested on charges of murder. Police have registered a case and launched a detailed investigation while interrogating the accused to ascertain the circumstances and motive behind the crime.---------
