ST. PETERSBURG, June 26 (HS/RIA Novosti) - Modern legislation must be adapted to new technologies, including artificial intelligence, Russian presidential adviser and Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee for the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum Anton Kobyakov said on Friday.

Of course, our forum could not avoid discussing high technologies, especially so-called artificial intelligence. These technologies are changing not only our lives, but also certain everyday and social norms, and therefore the laws. Modern law must adapt to new technologies, including artificial intelligence. It is one of the main boogeymen of the future that we ourselves are developing while simultaneously fearing it, Kobyakov told reporters.

A legal framework for new tasks and technologies is essential, he stressed.

We are living through a period of global transformation of the world order. This is already very noticeable. International law is undergoing complete disintegration. The West is not simply ignoring international law, but is deliberately destroying it. The globalization project is coming to an end. This project is collapsing before our eyes. The process of the old international system's disintegration is in full swing, Kobyakov said.

The West is creating and imposing various rules on the rest of the world in areas such as environmental protection, sports and culture, which is also a manifestation of the crisis in international law, the presidential adviser said.
