
MOSCOW, June 26 (HS/RIA Novosti) - The death toll from Ebola in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has exceeded 300, with 1,155 confirmed cases, the DRC Ministry of Communication and Media said.
The epidemic remains active in the provinces of Ituri, North Kivu, and South Kivu … with 1,155 confirmed cases and 304 deaths, the ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
The case fatality rate has increased by one percentage point compared to the previous bulletin, reaching 26.3%.
In May, the World Health Organization (WHO) classified the Ebola outbreak in the DRC and Uganda as an emergency posing a risk to other countries. The organization assesses the regional risk of further spread as high.
