Mumbai, 25 June (HS): Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde hinted
Thursday at future defections from the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT),
stating that the former Maharashtra chief minister had lost ground and was
unable to keep his MLAs and MPs together. According to Kalyan Lok Sabha MP, the
recent transfer of six UBT MPs to the Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde has
strengthened the NDA and increased PM Modi's political power. Many of them who
are departing are Shiv Sena founding members. Today, Uddhav is criticizing
them, yet these are the same guys who founded the party. Uddhav is unable to
meet with MLAs and MPs. All renegade UBT MPs will bolster the NDA, and the Prime
Minister's authority has grown. Everybody believes in Eknath Shinde. Hopefully,
we will be able to persuade all MPs, added Shinde.
Shrikant Shinde, a critic of Thackeray's leadership style,
alleged that leaders and workers in the UBT camp felt ignored. In our
party, we listen to the complaints of corporators. That is why people believe
in Eknath Shinde's leadership,” he explained. The Shiv Sena MP also stated that
additional leaders may join the Eknath Shinde camp in the coming days. More
leaders are expected to join Eknath Shinde in the following days. 'Operation
Tiger' has been characterized as successful thus far, and more departures are
likely as the scenario unfolds, he added.
