Lucknow, 25 June (HS): “The black chapter of 25 June 1975 - It
was a vile attempt to strip away the rights of Dalits, the deprived, the backward,
women, and every voter. This was also a direct assault on the dreams of 'Bharat
Ratna' Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Ji. The Congress's Yuvaraj goes around
the country with a copy of the Constitution, throwing dust in the eyes of the
public. But when these people and their ancestors got the chance, what did they
do. The late Mulayam Singh Ji used to say that everything will be fine, but
there should be no alliance with the Congress, but what are their successors
doing? “ quipped Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on the 51st
anniversary of the Emergency, at a program organized in Lucknow on the occasion
of 'Constitution Murder Day'.
“When the world did not know about democracy, democratic
values and systems aligned with them were being operated in the villages of
India. The very meaning of democracy is this—government of the people, by the
people, for the people... Ever since a government dedicated to democratic
values came to power in the state, numerous committed steps have been taken for
the welfare of democracy fighters,” he added.
“To preserve only its power intact, the Congress committed
the grave sin on this very day in 1975 by imposing Emergency on the country and
strangling democracy. On the 51st anniversary of the Emergency, I participated
in the 'Constitution Murder Day' program organized today in Lucknow and viewed
the exhibition based on the tragedy of the Emergency. On this occasion, I also
honored the democracy fighters who contributed to protecting democracy amid the
adverse circumstances of the Emergency. Salutations to the sacred memories of
all known and unknown democracy fighters,” he mentioned in a post on X.
